Philip Davies was born in Wollongong and completed his high school education at Wollongong High School. He moved to Sydney and was enrolled in Arts Law at Sydney University. He graduated in 1973 and 1976. After completing the second college of law course at St Leonards he was admitted as a solicitor on 16 July 1976.
Philip gained employment in a suburban legal practice and worked for the next 28 years in both western and north western Sydney in general legal practice. He gained a comprehensive knowledge of conveyancing, probate, family, crime and general contract and Tort Law, appearing on many occasions as a solicitor advocate in the local, district and family courts.
In 1991 Philip was appointed a Public Notary.
Philip was called to the bar in the beginning of 2004, moving to Newcastle to join Newcastle Chambers where he has been ever since, and in that time has practiced extensively in family law, building & construction, probate and workers’ compensation. Philip has appeared in all courts and generally enjoys a good rapport with judges and other practitioners.
Philip completed a mediation course in 2016 and is a LEADR trained Mediator .
